Becky S. Wilson is the founder and President of WDS Marketing & Public Relations, Inc. She is a native of Huntsville, a small farming community located in North Central Missouri. Becky attended the University of Missouri and Truman State University. She holds a BA in English, a BS in Education and minors in Journalism and Creative Writing. After ten years of experience in business ownership and marketing, she founded WDS in 1991 as a direct marketing agency. As client need evolved, marketing services, public relations programs, media campaigns, and business events were added to the agency’s services. Becky is active in the Kansas City area business community. Due to her dedication to Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Becky was selected as the “Member of the Year” by the Chairman’s Club in 1999, and to their “Hall of Fame” in 2001. She was honored by Greater Kansas City Business magazine as a “Kansas City Trendsetter” in 2002. Becky served on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners for six years. The U.S. Small Business Administration and the State of Kansas have both honored her as their “Women in Business Advocate of the Year.” Becky is co-founder of the Kansas City Council of Women Business Owners (KC-CWBO). She is a member of Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), the National Association of Women Business Owners, the Central Exchange, and the Kansas City Blues Society. “The WDS formula for public relations success is a powerful one and we hope to keep evolving as we challenge ourselves to make a positive impact for our clients and the Kansas City community.”
